Evaluation:
Appropriate grade levels for this book would be Kindergarten through 2nd grade. I loved how realistic the pictures were in this picture book. It was amazing how you could see the shadows and lights reflecting on the faces and objects all throughout this book. I love how all these types of books (nonfiction: biography books) have an author’s note at the end of the book because you can learn more about these legends’ lives.
I don’t think I would use this book in my classroom because I think this book would be perfect for a music classroom. I can picture a music teacher reading and hearing Troy Andrew’s music after the read aloud.
