Summary: 

This book is about a boy named Gus that doesn’t feel like doing anything after his dog Ella dies. He is able to build up some energy and dresses up for Halloween and goes trick or treating. While going back home, he runs into some skeletons that confuse him into being a real skeleton. Ella, his dead dog, comes to his rescue and together they scare the skeletons away. 

Evaluation: 

Appropriate grade levels for this book would be Kindergarten to 3^rd grade. I would only use this book for a fun read aloud during Halloween because of the skeletons and going trick or treating. I would probably have this book in my classroom library to let my students read it for entertainment.
