This story is shared through the voice of a little girl who spends time with her grandparents while her parents are at work. For her, this particular kitchen window in her grandparents’ house is very important because everything meaningful for her happens around that window.
Evaluation:
Appropriate grade level for this book would be Pre-K to 2nd grade because the text is very easy to understand for kids this age and they would love all the bright colored illustrations. Most of children this age love their grandparents so they would be able to relate to it and see their grandparents through this story. I would use this book as a read aloud because apart from having a relatable theme, it also teaches very important things. For example, the little girl says that she can’t touch anything that is under the sink because she can get sick.
